Easily measure muscle activation and fatigue with KINVENT’s latest product, K-Myo

Physical therapists, sports medicine practitioners and neurologists have long used electromyograph (EMG) sensors to measure patients’ muscle response and, subsequently, diagnose diseases, rehabilitate injuries and devise athletic training plans. Traditional, clinical EMG sensors are large, cumbersome, wired devices that cannot be easily moved. It can sometimes take days for biofeedback from these sensors to be generated, analyzed and shared with patients.

Seeking to streamline the electromyography process, KINVENT, a pioneer in the field of biomechanical equipment, recently unveiled its latest product: K-Myo. The small, portable and wireless EMG device generates highly accurate numbers and delivers them via Bluetooth – giving doctors and patients instant feedback that, ultimately, drives better health and performance outcomes.

Measure Muscle Movement with Ease

Like traditional EMG sensors, K-Myo is connected to electrodes (both wet and dry may be used) that are placed on a patient’s muscle. Gentle electrical currents run through the electrodes, and the sensor measures the muscle’s response. The K-Myo evaluates and collects data on:

• Agonist and antagonist balance

Unlike traditional sensors, K-Myo is versatile, compact and portable. The pocket-sized device may be effortlessly transported from clinic to gym, and lab to field, making it easier for physical therapists and sports medicine physicians to deliver reliable, data-driven care to patients.

K-Myo can be connected to any other KINVENT device that measures force, including the K-Deltas Force Plates and K-Push Dynamometer.

Instant Feedback, Intuitive Data, Better Outcomes

K-Myo generates and displays intuitive data in real-time on the KINVENT Physio App. The numbers produced by K-Myo are hyper accurate (within 0.1% of reading) and can be used to guide injury rehabilitation plans or to pinpoint which underperforming muscles must be strengthened in order to prevent injury.
